The shell is the canvas. The Salish Sea is the palette. Once harvested for their oysters and left behind, these Pacific shells are gathered and transformed into one-of-one contemporary art.
Each Painted Oyster piece is a layered mixed media original: built up in stages, sealed in resin, finished with gilding. Made in small batches on Vancouver Island, BC. No two are the same.
