Where the ocean leaves its mark and I finish the story.

VANCOUVER ISLAND, BC

The shell is the canvas. The Salish Sea is the palette. Once harvested for their oysters and left behind, these Pacific shells are gathered and transformed into one-of-one contemporary art.

A close-up of a colorful layered paint with swirling patterns in black, white, blue, and brown tones against a black background.

Each Painted Oyster piece is a layered mixed media original: built up in stages, sealed in resin, finished with gilding. Made in small batches on Vancouver Island, BC. No two are the same.
